Artistic Approach:
A botanical artist and illustrator based in Wellington, New Zealand.
She is tertiary educated in visual communication design research in both the United Kingdom
and New Zealand (NZ), and has worked as a tertiary educator at Massey University in this
field in NZ.
Her practice is grounded in the time-honoured conventions of botanical illustration and the disciplined technique of watercolour, combining accuracy with sensitivity.
Informed by global perspectives yet shaped by local landscapes, working from life, she captures the transient and poetic qualities of plants.
Her most recent work is within ecological frameworks and the lens of cultural geography, reflecting on introduced species, colonial histories, and the fragility of nature under
climate change.
