Dora Baker is Kings Seeds featured artist for April

Dora has always loved to draw and the oldest drawings she has are in her school recipe book from primary school, where she did detailed illustrations of the ingredients for each recipe.

However, life got in the way, and Dora did not really begin again until she was semi-retired in 2010 and was watching renowned botanical artist Susan Worthington paint the large leaf rhododendrons at Pukeiti.

Dora’s goal in retirement was to start painting again and with mentorship from Worthington, has loved painting botanical subjects ever since. Her love of gardening, nature, plants, birds, and animals give her endless subjects to paint in watercolour and colour pencil.
